Sh L C TRIVEDI retired as General Manager East Central Railway in June 2021 (in secretary to the govt of India’s apex grade ). He was university gold medallist in Engg faculty and topper of UPSC Engineering services -1981 batch. He is a fellow of famous Institute of mechanical engineering London and has done management courses from World famous institutes, HEC Paris and Carnegie Mellon university Pittsburg USA.


Though his 40 years long distinguished career he served initially NTPC for initial two years and thereafter for 38 years Indian railways.He was decorated with multiple awards for his outstanding performance in several assignments. In his last assignment of GM ECR, he brought about unprecedented improvements in Railway’s infrastructure in Bihar, MP, UP and Jharkhand. Earlier on as Principal chief Mechanical Engineer he started manufacture of high speed coaches in ICF Chennai and made ICF the work’s biggest Rail coach making factory.

As Chief safety officer of North East Frontier Railways serving north east states and Bengal,he improved safety record of the Railways after Gaisal Railway accident which was the worst in the history of IR. No life was lost in his tenure.He has served almost all states of india during his distinguished career and has also travelled extensively abroad around the globe.

He has attended several training courses conducted by NAIR (National Academy of Indian Railways), Regional institutes of public administration, power Engineers Training society, HEC Paris, Carnegie Mellon university Pittsburg, institute mechanical engineering London. Hon Minister has specially nominated him as a faculty member in Rail Sahyog, a body formed recently to impart training to Railway professionals.

He has special interest in social welfare schemes and has coordinated relief works on large scale in several calamities, particularly flood affected regions of Bihar in multiple monsoons,(2018-2021) management of shramik specials during first corona wave(April -May 2020), Medical treatment of victims of 2nd wave of corona victims(April -May 2021), of Gujrat earth quake (2001), management of affected persons of Mumbai riots (1992). He is a voracious reader, poet (having written poems including ECR GEET, on corona, and on various others contemporary themes).

His subjects of interest besides Railways which is his first love include Indian history, mythology, modern financial engineering. He has visited most of the historical sites in india, sites connected with Roman Empire, remote areas of north east and Chhattisgarh.
